19.12.2018: Ruby Class had a great morning while the rest of the school were at the Panto. The children enjoyed making Christmas tree decorations out of green coloured cereal, golden syrup, chocolate baubles and strawberry lace tinsel. They also had the chance to make a decoration using a paper plate, glitter and their hand print painted green to look like a tree. At the end of the morning they were able to watch The Polar Express and enjoyed eating the Rocky Road that Reception children had made yesterday afternoon.
19.12.2018: At snack time, Mrs Mackrell came up to Ruby Class bringing a sack with her that the postman had kindly delivered from the North Pole. Inside was a letter and gift from Santa for each of the children. Santa was very proud of how well the children had sang in the Christmas play and reminded them of the importance to go to bed nice and early on Monday night so that he could deliver his presents.
10.12.2018: This afternoon; Reception, Year 1 and 2 performed their nativity play to the rest of the school. It was lovely to watch the children sing, dance and say their words with smiles on their faces. The other children clapped loudly at the end and said how amazing it had been.
10.12.2018: Last week in Ruby class the children wrote their letters to Santa and this morning they took a walk down to the local post box and posted them. The children thanked Father Christmas for a present that they had received last year from him. Hopefully we will receive a special reply from Santa before the Christmas holidays.
06.12.2018: This afternoon, reception children visited St Francis' Church for a walk round the labyrinth. The different stations included The Garden of Eden, The Ten Commandments and The Coming of Jesus. It was lovely to see the children excited to learn about God through a range of interactive and fun activities.
06.12.2018: This morning, Nursery enjoyed making a Christmas tree decoration and reindeer food to sprinkle on their gardens Christmas eve so that the reindeer know which house is theirs.
30.11.2018: This afternoon, reception children had great fun making different Christmas craft including peppermint cremes, reindeer food, a nativity scene ornament and a Christmas tree decoration. After all that excitement the children were able to sit down and enjoy a hot chocolate and biscuit. Thank you to the parents that kindly donated their time to come in and help all of the children with their Christmas craft.
28.11.2018: In circle time, this week, Ruby class listened to a story called 'Personal Space Camp'. The story talked about a personal space bubble, which the children made themselves outside using hoops. They thought about how it felt if another child came into their own personal space circle or if they went into someone else's personal space circle. Finally we talked about how our personal space bubble changes in size depending on who we are with e.g. family, teachers or friends.
12.11.2018: This morning, Ruby class took part in a dance workshop focusing on God the giver of light, to begin Incarnation week. The children thought about different sources of light and how they might show these with their bodies and faces. Finally they came up with a movement for dark and light to represent God bringing light to the world. It was lovely to see all of the children actively participate in the workshop.
06.11.2018: For Wellbeing today, Ruby class took part in a relaxation session focussing on their breathing and stretching. The children were able to be calm for a few minutes at the end of a busy morning, ready for lunch and the afternoon. Even Mrs Guy took part.
24.10.2018: This morning, as part of Healthy Eating week, Ruby class were able to make their very own smoothies. The children had chosen what fruit and juice they would like and then were able to watch it being made. As you can see from the photos the children really enjoyed drinking them. Afterwards the children all took part in a PE lesson to show that, as part of a balanced diet, we need to exercise too.
18.09.2018: This morning Ruby class enjoyed exploring the windy weather outside. They were able to run about and make their kites, made out of carrier bags and string, fly. The children were excited when the odd kite got caught in the wind and tried to get away.
13.09.2018: This morning Ruby class enjoyed eating the stewed plums and apples, that they had made yesterday afternoon, with bread for snack time. The children practised their spreading skills using a knife. A very kind neighbour and parent donated the plums and apples for the children to cook with.
