Crown Competition

In Ruby Class we have been learning about the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.  All of the classes across the school made crowns for their home learning , then we judged a winner for the best crown in each class. In Ruby class, the children voted for the best crown but there was so many amazing crowns that we had a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place! The children really enjoyed wearing their crowns in class and were very proud of their creations.

This half term in Ruby Class we have been learning about the environment and how to take care of it. We have been growing vegetables/fruit and plants, such as tomatoes and sunflowers. This week we made vegetable/fruit wraps. We learnt how to hold a knife and cut the vegetables/fruit. Most of us tried cucumber, sweetcorn, tomatoes, peppers and of course cheese in our wraps! We really enjoyed eating our wraps when we had finished making them.

Pancake Day!

In Ruby Class we learnt why Christians celebrate Pancake Day. We then made pancake mixture by mixing flour, milk and eggs together. Miss Warren and Mrs Hughes helped us to cook our pancakes in the frying pan. Then we tasted the pancakes with some strawberry sauce on top. We thought they were delicious!

Our topic this half term was space. We were really excited to make our own rocket ships!

Making Soda Bread

We read the story of The Little Red Hen in Literacy. After discussing the ingredients to make bread, we made soda bread. We really enjoyed mixing the ingredients together!
