This afternoon, Reception and Amber class went on a walk to the woods and saw some lovely bluebells. They listened to stories, played in the woods and also learnt about the importance of taking care of nature. The children also did observational drawings of the bluebells.
In RE we have been learning about naming ceremonies. This week we went to St Hugh's Church where Rev Nick led us through a Christian Infant Baptism service.
We are currently learning all about fractions. Today the year ones have been filling different shaped containers to half full and quarter full. They then compared the two and discussed what they noticed.
This week we have been reading Julia Donaldson's book 'Room on the Broom'. We are going to write our own versions of the story with different endings. Look at the pictures below to see us acting out our new story endings!

We have been reading about Sunny's travels around the world in 'Meerkat Mail'. Amber Class were very excited today because Sunny the meerkat came to visit our school! We showed him around and will be writing postcards to tell his family all about his holiday in Cockernhoe School.
