On Friday afternoon, Sapphire classed boogied in their dance workshop. Here are some photos of their group dances.
This term we have been learning about the Ancient Greeks. We explored Greek vases and found that we could learn lots about warfare, athletes and myths from the pictures on them. We then created our own vases using Papier-mâché and painting them with scenes from Ancient Greek life.
The children took part in a health and wellbeing morning with Premier Sports. The result looks yummy.
This Remembrance day, Sapphire class have been analysing poetry about the War. We focussed on 'In Flanders Field' and used ideas from this and images of poppy fields to create our own descriptions. Finally, we used our ideas to create Cinquian poems, which follow a syllable pattern of 2, 4 6, 8, 2, about the war, Remembrance and the soldiers that fought for our freedom.
In Art, we have been creating poppies from a variety of textiles. We used these to create our own Flanders field and were inspired by the poem to paint a sunset sky above the field and behind Silhouettes of Remembrance soldiers.
